Regina, SK (SportsNetwork.com) – The Saskatchewan Roughriders will likely be without quarterback Darian Durant for the rest of the season because of an elbow injury.

The team announced Tuesday that Durant has a torn tendon in his right elbow that will require surgery. He suffered the injury during Sunday’s game in Winnipeg.

Durant, 32, was placed on the six-game injury list. He has thrown for 1,792 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions this season.

Roughriders backup quarterback Tino Sunseri finished the victory over the Blue Bombers and completed 2-of-5 passes for 30 yards.

The Roughriders (8-2) sit second in the West Division with eight games left in the regular season.
