Rockies shelve Chacin

Scottsdale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) – Colorado Rockies pitcher Jhoulys Chacin was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday due to a right shoulder strain.

The team also put left-handed hurler Boone Logan (left elbow inflammation) on the 15-day DL and optioned righty Jordan Lyles to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The Rockies confirmed Franklin Morales will be the team’s fifth starter in the rotation.
