Rockies put CF Fowler on DL

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – The Colorado Rockies have placed outfielder Dexter Fowler on the 15-day disabled list with a right hand bone bruise.

The move is retroactive to June 26.

Fowler, 27, is batting .291 with 26 RBI, 49 runs scored and a .390 on-base percentage in 70 games this season, his sixth with the Rockies.

The Rockies activated right-handed pitcher Edgmer Escalona from the 15-day disabled list to take Fowler’s roster spot.

Escalona had been sidelined since early June with right elbow inflammation.
