Reports: Yankees, Gardner agree to extension
(SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Yankees and Brett Gardner have reportedly agreed to a contract extension.
Multiple media outlets, including the Yankees’ own YES Network, reported Sunday that the outfielder will earn $52 million over four years. The deal, which starts in 2015, also includes a club option for a fifth year worth $12.5 million.
The 30-year-old Gardner batted .273 and stole 24 bases while setting career highs with eight homers and 52 RBI over 145 games last season.
