Report: Tigers’ player could face sexual assault charge
Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – A Detroit Tigers player could face a charge of sexual assault.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Tigers reliever Evan Reed was being investigated by Detroit police in April after an alleged incident at a Detroit hotel on March 30.
The paper said the Wayne County prosecutor’s office is currently reviewing an arrest warrant for a Tigers player. The office would not release the name since a charge has not been made, and said a decision wouldn’t come this week.
Police had told the Free Press that Reed was cooperative when questioned in April.
In an earlier Free Press report, a source said a 45-year-old woman told police she met Reed in a bar and believed she was drugged, waking up in a hotel as the assault was taking place. She reported it to police the next day.
