Report: Colts RB Ballard tears Achilles
(SportsNetwork.com) – Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard was carted off the practice field Friday after reportedly tearing his left Achilles tendon.
Ballard went down after catching a pass and was scheduled to have an MRI, according to the team’s website.
ESPN.com, citing a source, said Ballard suffered a torn Achilles.
The third-year back missed all but one game last season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The non-contact injury occurred during practice when Ballard lost his footing on a running play.
He carried the ball 13 times for 63 yards in a Week 1 win over Oakland after rushing for a team-high 814 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie in 2012.
