San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Houston Astros have bolstered their bullpen with the signing of right-hander Luke Gregerson.

USA Today reported Wednesday that Gregerson agreed to a three-year, $18.5 million contract.

Houston landed a quality arm in the 30-year-old Gregerson after coming up short in its pursuit of relievers Andrew Miller and David Robertson.

Gregerson pitched for the Oakland Athletics in 2014, going 5-5 with three saves and a 2.12 earned run average in 72 appearances. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the San Diego Padres and has a lifetime ERA of 2.75 in 435 games.

USA Today also reported that Houston reached an agreement with right-hander Pat Neshek on a two-year, $12.5 million deal.

Neshek, 34, was 7-2 with a 1.87 ERA in 71 appearances for the St. Louis Cardinals last season. He struck 68 batters and walked only nine in 67 1/3 innings.

For his career, Neshek has a 2.78 ERA in 297 games for Minnesota, San Diego, Oakland and St. Louis.
