Reds place RF Bruce on bereavement list

Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – The Cincinnati Reds placed right fielder Jay Bruce on the bereavement list Tuesday and recalled pitcher Curtis Partch from Triple-A Louisville.

Bruce, who is hitting .215 with 10 home runs this season, can remain on the bereavement list from three to seven days.

Partch, a right-hander, has appeared in five games for the Reds this season without giving up a run in 6 1/3 innings. He has a 5.45 ERA in 30 games for Louisville this season, including two starts.

The Reds are hosting Arizona in a three-game series.
