Red Sox recall P Webster
Detroit, MI (Sports Network) – The Boston Red Sox recalled pitcher Allen Webster from Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday.
The 23-year-old righty is 0-1 with an 11.74 ERA in two starts with the Red Sox. His last game was on May 8 against the Minnesota Twins. With Pawtucket, he went 5-1 with a 2.98 ERA in 10 starts.
Webster is scheduled to start Saturday’s game against the Detroit Tigers.
To make room for Webster on the 25-man roster, the Red Sox optioned right- handed pitcher Pedro Beato to Pawtucket. He was recalled on June 16 and threw two scoreless innings over two appearances for Boston.
