Red Sox activate Victorino from DL
Boston, MA (Sports Network) – The Boston Red Sox activated veteran outfielder Shane Victorino from the 15-day disabled list prior to the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Angels.
Victorino hasn’t played since May 20 due to a strained left hamstring. He appeared in one rehab game for Triple-A Pawtucket Thursday night and hit a homer.
In 34 games for the Red Sox this season, Victorino is hitting .283 with a pair of homers and 10 RBI.
The Red Sox made room for Victorino on the roster by sending outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. to Pawtucket. Bradley is batting .154 with a homer and six RBI over the first 19 games of his major league career.
