Rays activate Peralta

St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Tampa Bay Rays activated reliever Joel Peralta from the 15-day disabled list and designated left-hander Erik Bedard for assignment on Monday.

Peralta missed nine games because of an illness. The right-hander is 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA in 43 games this season.

Bedard went 4-6 with a 4.76 ERA in 17 games (15 starts) for the Rays this season. He was dropped from the rotation in early July.
