Rangers add Kouzmanoff to roster
Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Texas Rangers purchased the contract of infielder Kevin Kouzmanoff from Triple-A Round Rock prior to Wednesday’s game in Boston.
Kouzmanoff signed a minor league deal with the Rangers in December and batted .370 with three homers and 12 RBI during spring training.
The 32-year-old last appeared in a major league game on Sept. 28, 2011 as a member of the Colorado Rockies. He had been a productive player, averaging 19 homers and 79 RBI over a four-year period (2007-10), three with San Diego and one with Oakland.
Kouzmanoff spent 2013 with Triple-A New Orleans in the Miami organization.
The Rangers designated pitcher Seth Rosin for assignment to make room for Kouzmanoff on the roster.
