Preds sign G Hutton for 2 years
Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Nashville Predators announced Monday the signing of pending unrestricted free agent goaltender Carter Hutton to a two-year contract worth $1.45 million.
The 28-year-old will make $700,000 for the upcoming season and $750,000 in 2015-16.
Pressed into service due to starter Pekka Rinne’s hip issues, Hutton posted a 20-11-4 record, 2.62 goals-against average and one shutout in his first full season of NHL action in 2013-14.
The undrafted free agent played collegiately for UMass-Lowell from 2006-10 and departed as the program’s all-time leader in GAA (2.33), save percentage (.913) and shutouts (10).
