Pelicans pick up option on Davis

New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) – The New Orleans Pelicans have picked up the fourth-year option on the contract of forward Anthony Davis.

The first overall pick in the 2012 draft, Davis has averaged 17.3 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 131 games over his first two seasons.

Davis, who helped lead the United States to a gold medal in the FIBA World Cup this summer, earned his first All-Star selection last season.
