Patriots activate RB Vereen
Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – The New England Patriots activated running back Shane Vereen from short-term injured reserve prior to Monday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
Vereen was on injured reserved with a designation to return for just under 10 weeks because of a fractured bone in his wrist. He rushed for a career-high 101 yards in New England’s season-opening 23-21 win at Buffalo, his only game of the season.
The 2011 second-round draft pick has gained 409 yards on 91 carries with four rushing touchdowns in 19 career games.
