Palmer claims Foshan Open title
Foshan City, China (SportsNetwork.com) – Jason Palmer carded a final-round, 3-under 69 on Sunday, which was good enough to earn him a 1-shot victory at The Foshan Open.
Palmer finished the week at 16-under-par 272 at Foshan Golf Club. The win is Palmer’s first on the European Challenge Tour.
It was a relatively routine start for Palmer as he began with six straight pars before pouring in back-to-back birdies on seven and eight. After making the turn at 2-under, Palmer made five straight pars from No. 10 to begin his back nine.
Palmer then made another pair of birdies on 15 and 16, but he gave one of those shots back with a bogey on No. 17. Palmer made par at the last to clinch the title.
Ben Evans finished alone in second place at 15-under 273 following a final- round, 6-under 66. Jens Fahrbring (68), Mark Tullo (68) and Jason Barnes (70) all ended tied for third at 13-under 275.
