Palace Malice gearing up for Travers
Saratoga Springs, NY (Sports Network) – Jim Dandy winner Palace Malice is back galloping at Saratoga Race Course and will begin workouts on Sunday for the $1 million Travers Stakes set for Saturday, Aug. 24 at Saratoga.
Owned by Dogwood Stable, Palace Malice won the 1 1/8-mile Jim Dandy on July 27 by a length over Will Take Charge and covered the distance in 1:47.37. That victory along with his Belmont Stakes win has him eighth in the latest National Thoroughbred Poll.
Palace Malice has three wins in nine career races for $1,231,135.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, the 3-year-old colt will have his final Travers work on Sunday, Aug. 18.
