Padres bring up Erlin for start
San Diego, CA (Sports Network) – The San Diego Padres recalled pitcher Robbie Erlin from Triple-A Tucson to start Wednesday’s series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The 22-year-old Erlin will make his third stint with the big league club this season, having already pitched in three games (one start) with a 4.15 ERA over 8 2/3 innings. He earned the win in his first MLB start on June 1, a 4-3 victory over Toronto.
To make room for the left-hander, the Padres optioned fellow hurler Brad Brach to Tucson.
