Outman in, Hill out for Yankees
Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – A day after trading for pitcher Josh Outman, the New York Yankees selected his contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and designated pitcher Rich Hill for assignment.
Outman was 4-0 with a 3.28 ERA in 31 relief appearances for the Indians this season. He was also 3-1 with a 4.43 ERA in 23 games at Triple-A Columbus.
The veteran lefty has a career record of 16-11 with a 4.49 ERA in 152 games, 32 of which have been starts, over parts of six seasons with Oakland, Colorado and Cleveland.
Hill, also a lefty, appeared in six games with the Yankees this season, allowing two hits in 2 1/3 innings.
