North Dakota State LB Olson out with ACL tear
Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) – Standout middle linebacker Grant Olson of top- ranked North Dakota State has a torn ACL in his left knee and is not expected to play again this season.
The senior suffered the knee injury, which was diagnosed as a torn ACL and a Grade 1 MCL sprain, in Saturday’s win over Illinois State.
Fellow All-America Marcus Williams, a cornerback, also twisted his left knee in the Missouri Valley Football Conference game. He is listed by NDSU as day-to- day.
Olson suggested to the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Monday that he may delay surgery to remain a presence on the NDSU sideline for the rest of the season.
Olson, a Buck Buchanan Award candidate, has never missed a game in his four- year career. The 9-0 Bison, the two-time defending FCS champions, will play at No. 15 Youngstown State on Saturday.
