North Dakota fires football coach Mussman
Grand Forks, ND (SportsNetwork.com) – The University of North Dakota fired head football coach Chris Mussman on Monday, just two days after he finished his sixth season with a 3-8 record.
Mussman had a 31-34 mark at UND. His team finished 2-5 in the Big Sky Conference this season.
“Coach Mussman and I met this morning at which time I shared with him my decision to make a change in our football leadership,” athletic director Brian Faison said, adding UND has begun a national search for a new head coach.
Mussman joined the UND coaching staff as the offensive line coach in 1999. Mussman was elevated to offensive coordinator in 2001 and took over as the head coach prior to the 2008 season.
