Niederreiter, Wild agree to 3-year deal
St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Minnesota Wild and restricted free- agent forward Nino Niederreiter agreed to terms on a three-year contract Thursday.
Niederreiter, 22, had 14 goals and 22 assists in 81 games last season, his first with the Wild. He added three goals in 13 playoff games, including the overtime winner in Game 7 against Colorado in the opening round.
Selected fifth overall by the Islanders in 2010, the Swiss native had only two goals and one assist in 64 games over two seasons with New York.
The Islanders traded him to the Wild on June 30, 2013.
