NHL salary cap increased to $69 million

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The National Hockey League’s salary cap has been raised to $69 million for the 2014-15 season, the league and NHL Players’ Association revealed on Friday.

The new number is an increase of $4.7 million over the $64.3 million cap for the 2013-14 season, which was negotiated as part of the collective bargaining agreement that ended the 2012-13 work stoppage.

The minimum payroll is $51 million.
