NFL Recap: Week 10
The Houston Texans may not have their perfect season anymore, but that didn’t stop them in taking a victory against a very worthy opponent, the Chicago Bears. The Atlanta Falcons on the other hand, did have a perfect season going into their game this week, and it was taken away by a very unlikely opponent, the New Orleans Saints. The New England Patriots also nearly lost to a typically easy opponent, the Buffalo Bills; but they managed to just barely pull out a win. That and more, in this week’s NFL recap!
New England Patriots 37, Buffalo Bills 31
A game between division rivals is always a fun one to watch, even if the winner is usually pretty predictable. That’s what most thought of this game before it started, as the Pats usually come out on top over the Bills; and the last time these two met it was in a crushing 52-28 victory. This time though, it was a bit tougher for the Pats. They suffered on defense throughout the entire game; and in the second half their offense started to take a hit, too. The Bills proved to be a tough opponent yesterday, especially with Ryan Fitzpatrick leading the way, but it just wasn’t enough against a team that usually gets them in the end.
New Orleans Saints 31, Atlanta Falcons 27
Well don’t look now but the Atlanta Falcons have had their perfect season taken away from them – and by the New Orleans Saints, to boot. The Saints entered the season with abysmal loss after abysmal loss, and it seemed as though they’d never be able to put the bounty drama behind them. But now they have, and if they can keep holding on, they’re on their way to the playoffs. It wasn’t without some mistakes on the Falcons’ part, not after quarterback Matt Ryan threw two incompletions, while running negative yardage in between. But you have to play pretty well against such a tough team, and the Saints did just that in fine form.
Houston Texans 13, Chicago Bears 6
The Houston Texans are no longer undefeated this season, but they do have another win under their belts after their game Sunday night. It was a hard fight, and between two of the best teams in the league no one would expect anything less; but Arian Foster was the hero of the game. Foster ender the game with 102 rushing yards, as well as a touchdown catch. The Bears meanwhile, lost more than just a game. Their quarterback, Jay Cutler, was also taken out of the game with a concussion, and didn’t return.
