NFL Preview: Week 12
There’s a bit of a division rivalry (and more!) with a game against the Vikings and the Bears this week; and the New Orleans’ offense will try to pummel through the 49ers’ defense. Meanwhile, the Giants are trying to make a comeback at home as they face the Green Bay Packers.
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
If this game was even just a couple of weeks ago, it’d be a no-brainer to say that the Bears were going to steamroll Minnesota. But the Bears suffered an embarrassing loss against the Giants last week — a better team than the Vikings for sure, but the Bears still looked out of touch throughout it. Chicago also doesn’t know if Jay Cutler will be returning after missing last week with a concussion, and those two factors could play into a Vikings’ win.
San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints
The Saints have been on a comeback streak for the past few games, and they’ll need all the power they’ve got to take on the brick wall defense of the 49ers. In addition to just watching these two battle it out, it will also be interesting to see how Colin Kaepernick does his second time out as starting quarterback. Kaepernick was a huge part of the 49ers’ win last week against the Bears; and if he plays as well this week, Alex Smith could start looking like number two.
Green Bay Packers at New York Giants
Each of these teams are leading their divisions, and they each have a quarterback that’s been the talk of the league this season. But even continuous sacks don’t seem to stop Aaron Rodgers, as he continues to get right back up and throw a touchdown almost immediately after. Eli Manning on the other hand, has been terrible, with his last three games being three of his worst — not a touchdown pass in one of them. The easy money’s on Green Bay this week, but the Giants are still a force to be reckoned with, and that makes a great game to watch on Sunday night!
