Nationals activate LaRoche from DL
Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Washington Nationals activated Adam LaRoche from the 15-day disabled list, and the first baseman is in Sunday’s starting lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
LaRoche had been out since May 10 with a strained right quadriceps. He was hitting .319 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 32 games prior to landing on the DL.
To make room for LaRoche, the Nationals optioned infielder Zach Walters to Triple-A Syracuse.
