Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) – Gerald Henderson scored a career-high 35 points and made all 12 of his free throw attempts as the Charlotte Bobcats ended a 10-game skid by downing the Boston Celtics, 100-74, on Tuesday. Ben Gordon added 17 points and Josh McRoberts recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who won for the first time since Feb. 19. Jeff Green and Jordan Crawford each netted 14 points for the Celtics, who have lost two straight following a five-game winning streak. Brandon Bass and Avery Bradley donated 10 points apiece in defeat.

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) – Dion Waiters and Alonzo Gee scored 20 and 17 points, respectively, as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Washington Wizards, 95-90, on Tuesday. Tristan Thompson recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds while Wayne Ellington and Shaun Livingston had 12 points apiece for the Cavaliers, who came into the game off 100-96 lost at Toronto on Sunday. John Wall had a game-high 27 points and 14 assists for the Wizards, who have lost five of their last seven games. Emeka Okafor registered 18 points and 11 rebounds and Nene had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – The frenetic Orlando crowd jeered every time Dwight Howard stepped up to the foul line and cheered every time he missed. Howard returned to the Magic Kingdom for the first time since his trade to the Lakers during the offseason and had a season-high 39 points, 16 rebounds and matched his own NBA record with 39 free-throw attempts in Los Angeles’ 106-97 win. The Magic hacked Howard intentionally throughout and continually sent the woeful foul shooter to the charity stripe. Howard went 25-of-39 from the foul line, but sunk 23 of his final 30 after beginning the game just 2-of-9. He broke Wilt Chamberlain’s 50-year-old, single- game mark of 34 free throws, done Feb. 22, 1962, on Jan. 13, 2012 against the Warriors. Howard sunk 21-of-39 from the line against Golden State. Howard led the Magic to the 2009 NBA Finals, was a six-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year during his eight-year stay in Orlando. He averaged 18.4 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.16 blocks with the Magic, who selected him with the first overall pick of the 2004 draft.

Brooklyn, NY (Sports Network) – Brook Lopez had 26 points and Deron Williams scored 20 to go along with 13 assists as the Brooklyn Nets edged the New Orleans Hornets, 108-98, on Tuesday at Barclays Center. Andray Blatche chipped in 18 points, while MarShon Brooks donated 14 for the Nets, who bounced back from a defeat at Philadelphia on Monday and have won four of five. Eric Gordon scored 21 points and Anthony Davis had a double-double with 17 and 10 boards for the Hornets, who have lost four of five overall and four consecutive road contests.

Miami, FL (Sports Network) – The way the Miami Heat are going, they may have home-court advantage locked up in the Eastern Conference by the end of the month. Dwyane Wade had 23 points, six assists and five steals in Miami’s 98-81 win over the Atlanta Hawks. LeBron James was just 3-of-11 from the floor, but added 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Heat, who matched the fifth longest winning streak in NBA history. With a win Wednesday against the 76ers in Philadelphia, Miami will become just the fourth squad to win 20 in a row. Josh Smith tallied 15 points and six boards for Atlanta, which has dropped seven consecutive contests against Miami.

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – Vince Carter scored 23 points off the bench and led the Dallas Mavericks to a 115-108 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. Dirk Nowitzki had 19 points and 11 rebounds while Jae Crowder and O.J. Mayo scored 14 points apiece for the Mavericks, who are on a four- game winning streak. Monta Ellis scored 32 points and dished out nine assists for the Bucks, who came into the game having won six of their last seven games. Mike Dunleavy and J.J. Redick scored 18 and 17 points, respectively. Larry Sanders recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) – Ricky Rubio tallied his first career triple-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 107-83 rout over the San Antonio Spurs. J.J. Barea netted 17 points off the bench for Minnesota, which had dropped eight of its last nine games coming in. San Antonio played Tuesday without forwards Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard and guard Tony Parker because of injuries. None made the trip to Minneapolis. Duncan and Leonard are each battling a sore left knee, while Parker has a sprained left ankle that’s expected to keep him out a few more weeks. The Spurs listed all three with injuries, something the team did not do when Duncan, Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green were held out of a nationally televised game against Miami back in late November. NBA commissioner David Stern slapped the San Antonio organization with a fine of $250,000 for the November decision. Cory Joseph tallied 15 points to lead the Spurs, who lost for the second time in their last six.

Portland, OR (Sports Network) – Zach Randolph had 19 points and 10 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 102-97, on Tuesday. Marc Gasol scored a team-high 20 points and Mike Conley had 14 points and 15 assists for the Grizzlies, who have won four straight and 13 of their last 14 games. Damian Lillard scored 30 points on 8-of-17 shooting and went a perfect 11- for-11 from the foul line for the Trail Blazers, who have lost three of their last four games. LaMarcus Aldridge registered 28 points and 10 rebounds in the setback.
