Moore jumps 20 spots in world rankings
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Ryan Moore successfully defended his title at the CIMB Classic on Sunday and that helped him jump 20 places in this week’s world rankings.
Moore moved from 47th to 27th in the new rankings. Marcel Siem won for the fourth time on the European Tour and that helped the German soar 82 spots to No. 70 this week.
Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott remained the top two ranked players in the world. Sergio Garcia shared second place behind Moore and that helped the Spaniard inch up to No. 3 this week.
Garcia’s move pushed Jim Furyk down a notch to fourth. Henrik Stenson held steady at No. 5 and was again trailed by Justin Rose, Bubba Watson, Jason Day, Matt Kuchar, Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson.
Billy Horschel climbed one to 12th and Martin Kaymer dipped a spot to 13th, while Jordan Spieth was 14th again this week. Dustin Johnson and Zach Johnson exchanged positions with Dustin up to 15th and Zach dropping one to 16.
Graeme McDowell and Jimmy Walker were 17 and 18 again this week, while Victor Dubuisson improved a spot to 19th. That move pushed Tiger Woods down to 20th.
