Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Mets placed outfielder Eric Young Jr. on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a right hamstring injury.

Young felt discomfort when he stole second in the seventh inning of Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Arizona. He sat of Sunday’s doubleheader against Arizona as a precaution before he had a chance to see a doctor.

In 42 games for the Mets this season, Young is batting .220 with seven RBI and 17 stolen bases.

The Mets recalled outfielder Matt den Dekker from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. He was batting .269 with four home runs and 26 RBI with Las Vegas.

The 26-year-old den Dekker made his major league debut with the Mets last season, playing in 27 games.
