Mets place Matsuzaka on DL with sore elbow
Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Mets placed pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a sore right elbow.
The move is retroactive to Friday, a day after the right-hander gave up three runs in two innings out of the bullpen in a loss to Milwaukee.
Matsuzaka, who started the season in Triple-A, is 3-3 with a 3.87 ERA in 28 games for the Mets this season, including nine starts.
The Mets selected the contract of righty Buddy Carlyle from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the roster spot.
