Mets ink Dice-K to minor league deal
Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Mets have signed pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The once highly touted right-hander from Japan appeared in seven games for the Mets last season, posting a 3-3 record with a 4.42 ERA.
Matsuzaka spent the first six seasons (2007-2012) of his career with Boston, who won the bidding rights to the Japanese star with a bid over $51 million.
In 123 career starts with the Red Sox and Mets, Matsuzaka is 53-40 with a 4.52 ERA.
