Mets get good news as Wright diagnosed with bruised rotator cuff
Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – David Wright will not miss a significant amount of time after an MRI on the Mets third baseman’s left shoulder revealed a bruised rotator cuff.
Wright was a late scratch from Friday’s game against the Pirates and traveled travel back to New York for tests, which indicate a stint on the disabled list is not likely.
The shoulder has been bothering Wright for the past three weeks. He originally hurt it diving head-first on a stolen base at Citi Field on June 13.
Wright, 31, is hitting .277 with six home runs and 41 RBI across 79 games this season for the Mets.
