Mets’ d’Arnaud comes off concussion DL
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Mets activated catcher Travis d’Arnaud from the 7-day concussion disabled list prior to Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
D’Arnaud has been sidelined for two weeks with the injury, which occurred when he was struck in the head by the backswing of Alfonso Soriano during a game against the Yankees on May 13.
The 25-year-old, who hit just .196 with three home runs and eight RBI in 31 games prior to the injury, will catch and bat eighth in Thursday’s matchup.
Fellow catcher Juan Centeno was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.
