Menayothin captures WBC minimumweight title
Bangkok, Thailand (SportsNetwork.com) – Wanheng Menayothin of Thailand outslugged Mexico’s Oswaldo Novoa on Thursday to capture the WBC minimumweight title.
Menayothin improved to 36-0 with 11 knockouts when Novoa failed to come out after the ninth round.
Novoa fell to 14-5-1. He was making his second defense of the 105-pound title he won in February with a fifth-round TKO of China’s Xiong Zhao Zhong.
