Marlins move Furcal to 60-day DL
Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Prior to the conclusion of a three-game series with the Phillies on Thursday, the Miami Marlins transferred infielder Rafael Furcal to the 60-day disabled list.
Furcal, who agreed to a one-year deal with the club in the offseason, has yet to suit up for the franchise. The 36-year-old hasn’t set foot on a major league field since 2012 with St. Louis.
Miami also selected the contract of pitcher Chris Hatcher from Triple-A New Orleans. Hatcher was 1-2 with a 2.01 earned run average and five saves in 15 appearances.
