Marlins activate Ramos, send Gregg to DL
Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Miami Marlins reinstated pitcher A.J. Ramos from the 15-day disabled list Friday, while placing fellow reliever Kevin Gregg on the DL with right elbow inflammation.
Ramos had been sidelined since June 26 with a sore shoulder. The right-hander had posted a 4-0 record with a 2.17 earned run average and 12 holds prior to being shelved.
The 36-year-old Gregg has been hit hard in 12 games since having his contract selected from Triple-A New Orleans in mid-June. Over nine innings of work, the veteran righty has allowed 10 runs on 11 hits and issued five walks.
Gregg, who saved 33 games for the Chicago Cubs a year ago, signed a minor league contract with the Marlins on June 3.
