Marlins activate Hechavarria from DL
St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Following a 6-5 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday, the Marlins made several roster moves, chief among them being the reinstatement of shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria from the 15-day disabled list.
Hechavarria landed on the DL on June 25, retroactive to June 21, due to a right triceps strain.
In addition, pitcher Tom Koehler was reinstated from the paternity list, while outfielder Jake Marisnick and pitcher Andrew Heaney were optioned to Triple-A New Orleans.
Heaney didn’t make it out of the fourth inning in Saturday’s start, allowing five runs on eight hits with three walks in 3 2/3 frames.
