Mariners option P Walker
Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Seattle Mariners optioned right-handed pitcher Taijuan Walker to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
Walker, who MLB.com listed as the league’s fifth top prospect, went 1-1 with a 3.60 earned run average in two starts this season since being recalled on June 30.
The 21-year-old dealt with shoulder inflammation in spring training and a setback during April kept him out even longer. He was 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in three starts with the Mariners last season.
Seattle recalled pitcher Stephen Pryor from Tacoma in a corresponding move.
