Lithuania, Serbia, Turkey and Brazil reach World Cup quarters
Barcelona, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) – The quarterfinals at the 2014 FIBA World Cup are now set after Lithuania, Serbia, Turkey and Brazil won their respective Round of 16 games on Sunday.
Emir Preldzic made a 3-pointer with five seconds left to give Turkey a 65-64 win over Australia. Turkey took second in Group C and will take on Lithuania on Tuesday.
Jonas Valanciunas scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in Lithuania’s 76-71 win over New Zealand. They finished No. 1 in Group D.
Bogdan Bogdanovic had 21 points in Serbia’s 90-72 rout of Greece. Serbia took fourth in Group A and will face Brazil in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Raul Neto ended with 21 points as Brazil beat Argentina by an 85-65 margin. Brazil finished second in Group A.
