LeBron for 32 Points at Heat Overpower Lakers 107-97

LeBron James has always been someone to respect in the world of basketball, but lately he’s been surpassing even his own standards and seems at this point, simply unstoppable.

On Sunday, James did it once again as the Heat hosted the L.A. Lakers. Finishing with a total of 32 points, he made 12 out of 18 shots, helped with seven rebounds and four assists, and made three steals. It was the fifth consecutive game that James had scored 30 points or more. During each of those games he’s averaging 31 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6 assists. He’s made 55 of 77 of those shots, giving him a shooting percentage of 71.4.

Those 30-plus points in five consecutive games doesn’t just give James a Heat record, which it does; but it also puts his name down in history as the first NBA player to record that many points during that many games — and still do it while having a shooting percentage of 60 per cent.

LeBron’s streak began on February 3 when the Heat played the Toronto Raptors and he put up 30 points. The next night when playing the Charlotte Bobcats, he put up another 31 points; and against the Rockets on Wednesday night, he posted 32. On Friday, LeBron earned 32 points when playing the Clippers — and he needed only 11 shots to do it.

What comes next? From what we’ve seen so far, it’s not hard to imagine that LeBron will soon be going for his tenth or twelfth consecutive game of 30 points or more. But the Coach says that fans shouldn’t start counting points just yet.

“I say this to Miami fans,” said coach Erik Spoelstra after the game against the Lakers, “Don’t take it for granted. He’s making greatness look easy.”
