LeBeau resigns as Steelers defensive coordinator
Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Dick LeBeau has reportedly resigned as the Steelers’ defensive coordinator — a position he has held for the past 11 seasons.
According to a report in the Urbana Daily Citizen, a small newspaper out of Urbana, Ohio, LeBeau has ended his tenure in Pittsburgh but has not retired.
LeBeau, 77, helped the Steelers win two Super Bowls following the 2005 and ’08 seasons.
He has been a coach in the NFL in some capacity ever since his Hall-of-Fame playing career with the Lions ended in 1972. He was the Bengals’ head coach from 2000-02 and compiled a 12-33 record.
