Leafs’ Kadri scratched over lateness
Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri was scratched from the lineup for Monday’s game against the Islanders because he was late to a meeting.
Kadri reportedly apologized to teammates for being late to a meeting Sunday, saying he overslept.
Maple Leafs interim coach Peter Horachek confirmed Monday that Kadri wouldn’t play against the Islanders but didn’t go into detail about a talk he had with the 24-year-old forward, saying only that they “talked about his past.”
Kadri has 16 goals and 20 assists in 64 games this season and ranks fourth on the team in points.
