Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago White Sox announced Friday that first baseman Paul Konerko has a sesamoid fracture in his left hand and is expected to miss up to one week.

In what was expected to be his final major-league season, Konerko has hit just .220 with five home runs, eight doubles and 22 RBI in a reduced role.

The 18-year veteran has spent the past 16 seasons on Chicago’s south side and racked up 432 homers along with 1,383 RBI, both placing second to Frank Thomas’ franchise records of 448 and 1,465.
