Kings’ Nolan suspended two games

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan has been suspended for two games without pay by the National Hockey League on Sunday.

Nolan was assessed a minor penalty for boarding Detroit forward Darren Helm at the 3:53 mark of the third period in Friday’s 5-2 Red Wings victory.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, as a repeat offender, Nolan will forfeit $17,073.18 which automatically goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

He will also miss Kings contests on Sunday at Carolina and Tuesday in Dallas before being eligible to return on Nov. 6 against the Islanders.

Nolan was required to sit out one game last March for sucker-punching Edmonton’s Jesse Joensuu.
