Kings, Muzzin agree to 5-year extension
Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Los Angeles Kings signed defenseman Jake Muzzin to a five-year contract extension on Wednesday.
Muzzin, 25, posted five goals and 19 assists in 76 regular-season games, then contributed six goals and six assists in 26 playoff appearances as Los Angeles won its second Stanley Cup in three seasons.
The Ontario native has logged 132 games of NHL experience, picking up 12 goals and 29 assists since making his debut during the 2010-11 campaign.
Muzzin, whose original contract extension signed in July of 2013 was set to expire next July, will be an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of his current deal.
