Kentucky still a unanimous No. 1
New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Kentucky remains the undisputed top-ranked team in men’s college basketball.
The Wildcats are the unanimous No. 1 team in the Associated Press poll for the fourth straight week, receiving all 65 first-place votes and a total of 1,625 points from a nationwide media panel.
Duke remained second and was followed by Virginia and Wisconsin, which both moved up two places from last week. Louisville fell one spot to fifth after Saturday’s 58-50 loss to Kentucky, ahead of Villanova and Gonzaga.
Arizona dropped five spots to eighth after Tuesday’s 71-67 loss to UNLV. Iowa State and Utah round out the top 10.
The second 10 consists of Texas, Maryland, Kansas, Notre Dame, St.John’s, Wichita State, West Virginia, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Ohio State.
Washington had the biggest drop within the poll, plummeting eight spots from 13th to 21st after Sunday’s 62-57 loss to Stony Brook. Baylor, Northern Iowa, Colorado State and Georgetown are the last four teams ranked.
Georgetown was the lone newcomer this week, replacing TCU.
