Kawamura captures Panasonic Open title
Ibaraki, Japan (Sports Network) – Masahiro Kawamura shot 4-under-par 67 on Sunday to win the Asia-Pacific Panasonic Open by a single stroke.
Kawamura birdied his final two holes at Ibaraki Country Club to end the tournament at 9-under-par 275 and lock up his first Asian and Japan Golf Tour titles.
Overnight leader Sung-Joon Park had a chance to force a playoff, but his birdie attempt at the last failed to drop. Instead, he settled for a final- round 70 and a solo second finish at 8-under 276.
Y.E. Yang (69) placed third at 7-under, while Wen-Chong Liang (68), Brad Kennedy (70) and Akio Sadakata (71) tied for fourth at minus-5.
