Katie Holmes is Back on Broadway in “Dead Accounts”

It’s been four years since Katie Holmes made her Broadway debut in All My Sons but now she’s back, playing the doubtful sister in Dead Accounts.

The play is the story of a son, Jack, who returns home after a long time away, but there’s something very suspicious about his return. His wife is gone, his sudden wealth is obvious (and inexplicable,) and it’s clear that he’s there for more than just a family visit. His sister Lorna, is onto all of it and she won’t stop pestering him with questions until she starts to get some real answers.

The playbill reads, “Theresa Rebeck’s new comedy tackles the timely issues of corporate greed, small town values, and whether or not your family will always welcome you back…with no questions asked.”

For Lorna, played by Katie Holmes, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Norbert Leo Butz, who made his name on Broadway in Wicked, Is He Dead?, and Speed-The-Plow, will be playing opposite Holmes as Jack. No other casting has been announced as of yet, but it’s expected that other roles will be announced shortly.

The play will be directed by Jack O’Brien, who directed Catch Me If You Can and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Producing the play will be Jeffrey Finn, John N. Hart Jr., David Mirvish, and The Shubert Organization.

The show opens at the Music Box Theatre on November 29, with previews starting on November 3. Tickets are already on sale so get yours today!
