Jets place Kane on IR

Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) – The Winnipeg Jets placed forward Evander Kane on injured reserve Monday, creating room on the roster for the club to recall defenseman Keaton Ellerby from St. John’s of the American Hockey League.

The Jets announced last week that Kane, who has six goals and nine assists this season, is expected to be out of action until at least February with a lower-body injury.

Ellerby, 26, had two goals and four assists in 51 games for the Jets last season.
