Jets’ Kane suspended 2 games for boarding

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane was suspended two games without pay Monday by the National Hockey League for a boarding incident that occurred Sunday.

Kane was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for checking Ducks defenseman Clayton Stoner from behind with 11 seconds remaining in the second period of Sunday’s 4-3 overtime loss to Anaheim.

Kane will also forfeit $56,451.62 of his salary to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
